    well
    well
    well

Get to the 3rd unload today (of course on the wrong side of town) and the heat plug in the blower goes again. jebbushchrist. I fugging told you guys a week ago it wasn't just a plug. I'm standing there watching it, at 10psi. if it blows at 10psi, your blower has issues. I just keep running it. Fug it. I called it in, said i'm unloading at a place that by car takes 5 minutes, send a guy over and they can see while it's under load.
nope, come by the shop. (i'm at 10.5 hours with an hour drive in front of me. seriously?)
i go over. all these bigwigs come out. I tell them what i'm doing and what i said a week ago.
    "oh this blower has issues"

    well no fugging crapola

so then I go inside and say "did you mail my check?" cuz it should have been at my house yesterday, and if it ain't there today, i ain't coming in tomorrow. Oh yeah, it's out here. Yeah, still in the pile. No stamp even on it. MFers.

Open it up. has a few training days and then a few runs that I did on that check.

EAch run takes 3.5 hours. it's 100 miles of driving, a port on either side, 15 minutes to load and about a 1:05 there adn 1:10 to 1:15 back and 45 minutes to an hour to unload. I.e. it takes 3.5 hours for every run.

    it pays

    are you ready for it?
are you sure you are sitting down?

$50. (per ton so varies a bit, but $49 to $50)

FOR THREE AND A HALF HOURS OF WORK.

$150 for 12 hours of work (if you're lucky)

yeah, that's like $12 an hour
Went in to see the boss. "is this correct?"
    Yeah, seems to be correct.
I can't do that. Even he agreed, "that's pretty low"
    ummm, ya think?
I can work at McD's and make that much. (hell more, i think min wage is coming here too)
So, my last day is tomorrow. Sorry, at $12/hour I"m not giving two weeks. I won't leave you in the lurch, but forget it. Bring the truck back either tomorrow afternoon or saturday morning. (and get it all signed off).

Honestly it's supposed to snow tonight and if I wake up to snow, yeah, I'm going back to bed. The chances of me risking my CDL on a snowy day for $12/hour are way less than zero

they said it was by the ton mile. so much per ton per mile, but they had no examples to give

    SHOCK (well in retrospect)

anytime nobody can clearly and easily explain the pay (so much per mile, so much per piece, so much per hour), you're getting screwed.

and agree on the hourly gig.
well i'll have plenty of time next week.
BTW, I actually made more when broken down ($15/hr)

When I was with Beelman we got paid by the ton. More miles=more per ton. Check out WW in Denver. Not sure if they're hiring out of there or for local but they haul flour out of Ardent Mills. May be worth looking in to unless it's too far for you.

I'd think with all you've been through, you shouldn't have any trouble finding your next tanker gig. Best of luck to you
