You're not going to have a job there if you try to sue them to force different runs, it'll more than likely get worse. If you don't like your job, either who the boss is, where the work is, or what the work is, it's generally time to go shopping for a different job, that or realize life and being an adult sucks ### and lie to yourself and say it ain't that bad. I don't blame you at all for wanting to run less city driving, but clearly it's not going to happen there.

Too many drivers are relying on info from the web when picking a company. I'm guilty of that and in a similar situation. Use the web to find drivers at the companies then get your info from them. Recruiters lie, there are no exceptions.

You guys have to start saying no and doing what's best for you. I started at a mega carrier and got my CDL through them. Learned real quick that national doesn't mean anywhere close to coast to coast all 48 runs. Learned real quick how little they care about what you want or what you think is best. So I just started saying no. I'm going to be empty at 8AM and you sent me a plan with a live load appointment for 2PM that's only 40 miles away, find me something else I'm not sitting all day. I've rejected a load and drove from Augusta back to Atlanta at their terminal and told them to pick any envelope on this relay board and I will take it but I'm not sitting all day until you pay me for last week's detention you didn't pay me. I just got to the yard for home time I'm leaving, I'm not taking that load 20 miles down the road with 30 minutes left on my clock to sit at a dock for 4 hours to get unloaded then PC back and go home. They'd send me their monthly quota of a safety event video just to not pay me my bonuses so I told them to call me over every other time that camera starts flashing, don't just pick a random clip from 3 weeks ago and ask me what was going on there, you can go jump off a cliff with that BS. I'd hit that manual record button multiple times a day just to give then my piece of mind and keep their inbox full.

The fact is I never got fired. I was never retaliated against. I just knew what I had to do to get the most out of this place and my "fleet managers" didn't.

You need to do what I did. I went through 6 companies in 3 years. Kept trying to find what’s right. I did from a small unpretentious add in Craigslist. Work for a small company in dry van. All 48 definitely. Out of Denver. We have our problems. But it’s by far the best for me.
