Bill, When I do post I post specifics why would you want someone to call and waste time and [possibly miss the right truck ? Now about one out of hundred will call me and ask can I haul more weight or length which is ok with me. But calling just to call has gotten to where it irritates me because they are to stupid or lazy to read a posting.
Almost as bad a robo computer calls.

Why? Because I have read the research on the additional data and over 90% that use that outside of LTL segment use it as a Wish List. If someone has a list of trucks with no data that would be the first calls, then ones that are posting for their dream load.

Also, as I mentioned, most brokers aren't calling from the load board system but have that information pulled into a TMS so that they can cross reference it with approved carriers and load history. To have someone who makes money booking loads clicking through a couple screens to see if you have specific wants is the time waster.

Now, if most used it the way you are describing what would change quickly is you would see the brokers having the software redesigned so that information was front and center. And they would be pushing the load boards to have more selection fields so that you can make tighter searches.

When capacity is tight, the phone doesn't ring for the broker. They have to make something happen.

There is a lot of reasons. Example we run reefer hazmat. When we post it we post VR hazmat. Means anyhazmat. Or RZ. What some brokers see is Reefer. Some see dry van. I have a lane to Florida. It's a $3,000 partial. Sometimes they have coils, looking for a flat bed and they pay really good money. We can load it in the reefer believe it or not. Just have to secure the load the right way. That allows us for that lane to go for $4500. Even tho that broker is looking for a flatbed we call to see what it is and can it go on a reefer if we secure the right way. So far it's been working great, and the shipper is surprised that every time we deliver it there is never any issues. Sometimes we get phone calls to add other dry crap to it like dry food, but since it's hazmat we can't take it since we don't want to mix the products.

Before you get to high and mighty, check your spelling. Your intellectual prowess is suffocating. Must open a window and get some air. How about stepping down off the cross, that wood has already been used for a far greater purpose. Your opinion of your supposed intelligence, doesn't mean squat to us dumb truckers. Now crawl back under the rock from which you came. Don't spew your pissy, mad at the world, because of YOUR inadequacies, rhetoric here. Was that too harsh? Good!

Not too harsh at all. It's "rhetoric."

I would suggest you check your spelling and grammar first before waging your keyboard.
Which is meant to deflect from the actual point. You obviously think of yourself as "dumb" by your own statement , but how do you lump others in with you by the plural use of the word truckers? Did other truckers give you permission to represent them and yourself as dumb? Or are you making it plural to have company in your own self inadequacies as to make yourself feel bigger?
Now if you would've read and comprehended better this is a continuing problem I mention even after explaining
to these morons over and over again. Your demeanor gives you away as one of the ones who will say
"yes sir, yes sir three bags full, may I have more" ?
I tend to think of O/O's such as myself with their own authority as more of a skilled professional who doesn't have to accept crap from untrained morons.
To operate on your own you have to be an administrator, legal counsel, billing agent, safety man and the driver all in one to be successful to any degree.
The dumb ones like yourself, through your own admission, are one of the biggest problems in the industry and the reason rates are driven farther down.
