I think he's talking loaded vs empty when selected for mileage. You'd need to go to truck settings and change your actual weight wouldn't you? I know I adjust it and that does route me down roads with lower weight restrictions but still legally based on my settings.

Yes I understood that from him and yes you do have to go to Truck Tools/Truck Info to change your empty weight. I think the default is 33k.

    Thanks,

I have my weight set at 30k and 80k. Not sure how it would route if I changed my loaded weight to 30k but that just defeats the purpose or ease of use. When it ask if I am empty or loaded it should default automatically, or you would think.
also wish it would dim and lighten automatically at sunrise and sunset the way my old 520 did. Even set on auto it doesn't change when it should. And that is without changing the offset. Seems like it isn't accounting for daylight savings or something. With the old 520 when it was sunset it would darken automatically. I use that a lot because we haul a lot of oversize.
when you want to do a route comparison the second route never makes sense....for example going from Houston to Corpus Christi instead of giving you one route getting off on 71-tx35 RM ' s preferred route and say going on downtown to Refugio to 91 spur, the real preferred route, it takes you to 71, RM's preferred, for the alternate kicks you all the way to San Antonio then down I35. Adding about 150 or more to the trip. Pass up 71 and the time and miles go down, then wants you to get off in Ganado, and pass it up and miles and time goes down again. #### good thing I know my way around down here or it would be adding lots of drive time to my day. I wish Google maps had truck routes then I would just use my iPad and donate this thing to the nearest dumpster or just use the tablet side of it. At least when you compare routes using Google they are all 3 pretty close and mostly feasible. Starting to think this is the worst $500 I have spent in a long time. Have had it for a little over a month and should have tried the Garmin. Don't know if it's any better as this and the 520 are the only truck GPS I have tried.

I jumped at the idea of a combined GPS and dashcam and was very disappointed with the camera. While the images were clear the camera does not have a wide enough lens and would not capture both of my fender mirrors while mounted on my dash. I would have had to mount the unit next to me in the cab in order to see my full frontend. Exchanged it for a Rand McNally 730 and Cobra dashcam.

    RAN MC NALLY.jpg

Just bought this Rand Mc Nally TND Tablet off of Craigslist in Fife, Wa. just outside of Tacoma moments ago. I paid
$ 250.00 and the guy brought me his receipt to give me from Love's dated 03/11/15. He just quit his trucking job yesterday and said he wouldn't be needing it anymore. Well with all the Pro & Con comments here even if I don't care for it I think it's a pretty safe investment and if I decide to go back with a Garmin like I've been using I think
I can EBay this unit and make a few dollars...

The tablet portion may be worth that. It seems to work as well as any other tablet.

Mark King I have the rand McNally tablet I did not use it for three or four days hooked it back up to the magnetic doc. I waited and when I turned it on the ran McNally screen came up twice Then went to The compass and said loading . It stayed that way for almost an hour I have pushed the reset several times turned it off and on and tried leaving it alone for 12 hours plugging it in at home for six hours and still did the same thing . Also also when I manually turn it off the screen stays lit up for a long time but with nothing on it . I think I am just outside the warranty. By about a month or two any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated

Have you tried plugging it directly into the tablet? The slice might be bad.

    Thanks,
    Mark
