Like all electronics it works out of the box or it doesn't. If it doesn't return it, not worth the time and hassle.

But like the 7 inch units, the Tablet also needs to be charged for about 30 minutes before trying to use the Truck GPS app. This app draws a lot of power from the tablet and if the battery is less than 10% then it probably not start. I have tested this in letting the battery run down to 3% while running the Truck GPS app and the tablet shuts down. If you plug it in and the battery is less than 10% the Truck GPS app will not start.

Just a tidbit there as I know everyone likes to get the "toy" out of the box and start it up.

Let me rephrase that. If it works like it's supposed out of the box then great, if not return it.

Sad, I would play with it out of the box ON the charger... At least then the charger is helping the battery while I learn it. The way I figure it, I want to know what I am doing BEFORE the wheels are turning. IE what happens to the screen while going down the road and instead of tapping the screen I touch the screen and pull downward (type of instance in my reasoning).

regardless, rand didn't like us93 in arizona. and it didn't like the other route i decided to take instead of going ALL THE WAY to flagstaff. and it couldn't find it's way OUT OF TOWN that it took me in to becuase it totally passed the turn off towards the 17.

    3 times i took the 93.

In the Settings/Battery - if you are above 10% then the Truck GPS app will run. If less than that the other apps will run. All I am saying if you try to start the Truck GPS and it shuts down, then let it charge for about 20-30 minutes and then try again. Normally they will have a good charge when you open the box, but in that instance the Battery App will give you a good idea of the charge. They come from the factory and leave the RM warehouse to the warehouse for supplier of the TS's. How long it sits in the warehouse or in the TS on a shelf RM has no control over.
