That was my problem with the thread about stupid drivers just couldn't seem to grasp that we were all being called stupid.
How would it look if we went to a law enforcement site and said how stupid police are?

I think I need a TTR break. Revelation and Shredfit you raise some valid points in some threads. But, then you just keep hammering how most cops do things illegally and rules are unconstitutional. Getting old. See ya in a couple of weeks.
Tazz Thanks this. -
BS on two fronts.
You have due process. You may not like having to go to court to fight a ticket but you can.
If you are warned there is no punishment from the government. That it the point you simple people simply will not get. One warning will get you now what it got you ten years ago. However we as a society governing the use of our roads have decided, because the technology advnced to the point it can be easily tracked, those that continually recieve warnings in higher amounts than others of their size and highlight them for a closer inspection of their compliance with the veru regulations they agree to abide when requesting permission to operate their business on this system of public roads.
Is that information available to others? Absolutely. Here's a news flash for you it always was in a dimmed down capacity due to lack of technology. You could always look up whom the FMCSA and State Enforcement agencies considered to be at higher risk for non-compliance. I forget the program but it basically told the scales your OOS rate and such(different than safersys I believe). Now with new technology we can include all of the failures.
You can challenge a warning. Right there on the spot. In a calm professional manner. If however you step out of the truck with the attitude displayed by certain members I look forward to a new youtube video of" Don't Taze me bro" redux the trucker edition. -
Trucking is an industry in which you can find all sorts of different people....from the highly intelligent to the dumber than a box of rocks. I didn't look at it as them calling ALL truck drivers "stupid"....just sharing a few stories about some who happened to be a few fries short of a happy meal. -
I have said this before the system before csa was a POS too and just a old version of what we have now. But to look at the fmsca site and listen to king ray there was no system till he sqauted and gave birth to the trud called csa 2010.
Since you your have been smoking to much today let me tell you how challenging one on the spot goes..
You inform officer you disagree with it's findings and want a supervisor. well they call the supervisor and tell them the "ONLY" version of the story, then you get to waste your breath and you are told the officer is right. If you are cited you ask for a speedy trial, they say: "whats that?" you ask to see the magistrate they say they don't do that either.
So yes mr tazz you live in a very sheltered world that most of us don't go to. The day they try and put it to you I will lay odds you'll be online hollering Rape and wanting presidential intervention.
What would be wrong with a way to put disputed reports in a hold file and have a IMPARTIAL means with which to deal with them??? No one has said they don't want safer highways just a fair impartial system that doesn't let the inmates run the assylum (inmates = cmv people) -
Thats whats good about this country, you are entitled to your opinion and I am mine. I just don't visit that thread anymore saves problems that way.
Way I see if they's that smart they'd be brain surgoens. -
That scam has been going on since I started running OTR......It's probably been going on for years.....The town's politicians are likely in on it.....It's a small town revenue maker....
I have heard stories like that about Monument as well....I have never had a problem with them though.... -
I'm curious how all those whom go Millions of miles without tickets, getting clean inspections, dealing with the very same people all of you people have problems earn thsi shelter you speak of.
Or could it be that there are proffesionals out here doing their job.
I'll give you a shortened example.
I-30 roughly sunset with headlights on but not necessary to see yet. Officer is releasing a car as I approach so I move over a lane to let them get going. Officer slows and waits to fall in behind me. Now at this point I figure he's gonna flip at the next crossover but as I go back right he still has his lights going and stays behind me.
As I hit the shoulder I catch off my fender mirror my right front light is out. Well at least I know why he's stopping me. Really tight on time just my luck. Hit my hazards pull over. Way oof the side and get my BOL, Reg, Insurance, Log'sopen my door as he approached and said" Yeah I saw it when you pulled out right front headlight huh?"
He said yes Can I see your license med card, reg, insurance............
Since I already had everything squared away I already had it all in my hand except my trailer reg. I offered to grab it and he said He would get it. Looked at my license, med card handed them back. Made a couple quick notes about BOL usual stuff.
I ask him if they allow parking at the scale because now I wont make the rest area I had planned on. He looks at my log and said "I'll have you out of here quick enough, but no when they used to do it they spent time picking up refuse, urine bottles, and bags of feces so they locked them up."
As he starts to walk back I ask "Do you mind if I go ahead and swap the light out while your filling out the report and stuff?"
"If you have one in the truck go ahead"
Now at this point he has me for the very least faulty lights. A ticket and a write up yes?
Funny he comes back with a level 3 driver only clean inspection for me to sign. Told me he wasn't gonna bother with writing the light up because now it was fixed and everything else was in good shape.
I thanked him signed my report collected and refiled all my stuff in it's spot, pulled down to the rest area and was doing my post walk around as he rolled through and waved at me.
Now let's try this the other way.
Cop pulls out And I say" Now WTF does this yack off want?NF'er I don't have ##### time for his bs. ......Ah #### my lights out.
I continue to p and moan about how tragically unfair it is. Balk at every question he asks. Tell him" Well the #### thing was working during my pretrip but you guys need money so I just know your gonna write me up and screw me on my hours.
Your right the arbitray and combatant attitude id the way to go huh? -
I'm Not going to be like you, I'm glad you didn't get a violation or ticket. Good story consider this fact here though for you to get a vehicle violation the officer would have had to done at least a level 2 inspection and since you had a light you could fix prior to inspection starting. so he just saved hisself possible dissucssion about it and help meet the monthly quota.
If always happened like that maybe I'd change my opinion.
-
When you said he got you for 2000 and you showed him your CAT scale and he laughed that his scale was better what did CAT say?
There is a 1-800 number to call in that instance. They corrected the Cortez scales once because they were off and showed them that. Appeared in court with documentation to prove their weight is accurate. Our guy was told to stop at the very next available scale and have it weighed on their dime to verify weight.
Just saying if I have a certified scale and then they try to get me for an overweight sokmeone besides me is paying.
CBI would be very interested in that Trinidad deal. From what I vaguely remember they live forgoing after stuff like that. Haven't been around Trinidad since aI was a kid sling cantalopes but don't remember any bs like that. Could be because I was a kid then.
