All jokes aside, I’m sure those freaky somalis don’t even get paid that low of a wage…. wtf are people thinking working for these companies.

Good stuff. Kudos to you for riding it out at Roehl. I understand how tough it can be to work when micromanaged. It seems like it only makes sense to do flatbed there.

I'm an experienced driver looking into their program as an option to get my CDL back and get back to driving. Could you elaborate at all on the contract they make you sign? Anything else I should know?

Something along the lines of 6 months and if you leave before those 6 months you owe 3k.

Even if you come in with experience, they will do everything in their power to downplay it to undercut your pay and you'll be put with a trailer who probably has less experience than you.

They are struggling with freight as well, their string of hiring any mouth that breathes is biting them in the butt pretty bad.

What i can say, their customer base is a a lot of easy to get to places and easy to back into docks. if you can ride out those few months to get "refreshed experience" then its an ok place to suffer a bit, much better than Schneider prime hirschbach stevens jb swift. If you are looking for a place to settle into for a few years, this ain't it, a vast majority of their fleet barely break 40k a year.

Appreciate the info. Do you know whether they put female drivers with female trainers as a general rule?

Yes, very few male trainers are qualified to train women, and they take that very serious.

I had gotten a few men canned from the training pool due to sexually suggestive "locker room" talk about female trainees.

Female trainees will be paired with female trainers, unless they have a qualified male trainer who you are comfortable with.

They also have a rule that we must always try and park close to a building and well lit area during 10hr breaks and resets when possible.

I started at Swift at the end of 2010 and I was getting 25cpm. It hasn't been that low in many, many years. I think they are starting in the mid 40's these days.

I guess if he was a team driver it could have been 26cpm for all miles the team drives, or you are talking about something that happened over a decade ago.
