I'm glad Illinois cleared this up for me. I wasn't sure about this whole HOS thing until this sign yesterday cleared things up for me.

Was it next to the signs that say "No overnight parking" at some rest areas?
Hardlyevr, misterG, KANSAS TRANSIT and 13 others Thank this. -
im glad they have such useful information posted for us! i wasnt too sure about this 11 hour and 10 hour rule thing.
-
maybe they are trying to communicate this message to the 4 wheelers? Funny regardless. Tax dollars hard at work stating the obvious.
-
The money spent on it was the first thing I thought about. First, what driver doesn't know this already? Second, there won't be a single person that is thinking about fudging the book a little, sees this sign and says to themselves, "Wow, they're right, I need to stop for the night."
The sign was in the truck parking so I doubt they're trying to communicate to four wheelers.
I was surprised though to pull into a rest area at 5pm and I was the only truck parked there. -
Everybody else is on "vacation" this week. -
No. The message is for the supertruckers who think HOS regulations don't apply to them.

I wasn't sleepy until I read that sign.
Notice the brown spot at the base of the sign where all the dogs urinate. I believe my dog marked that spot.DirtyBob Thanks this. -
Oh, It looked like Hoe's on site. I locked both doors, & put Wife on Duty signs in both windows. There broke, and planting signs. Every scale in that state is open. They want Cash.

I don't always "need" it, they're just telling me I have to.
