Last time I pulled a flatbed was in the 80's. Would not have left the shipper with that securement.

Umm...PoleCrusher, unless those are special straps:dontknow:, I think the WLL is 5,400 per, making it 21,600 lbs WLL for 4, 16,200 for 3. Which is plenty for the 50% requirement (13,500), with, as you point out, the penalty strap for the lack of bulk heading.

PS, forgot to mention, that the 4 straps (21,600) actually equals the required 80% forward movement restraint requirement.

Direct securement would be 5400 lbs WLL, Indirect would be 10,800 lbs WLL per strap. Yes I was doing fast rounding math, but 4 straps across 30,000 lbs is plenty as long as the length is 30' or less, or 40' with a bulkhead.

Um...not really Pole Crusher. Direct is actually only half of WLL, and Indirect is full WLL. If you're referring to the weight it can restrain, that's one thing, but the WLL doesn't increase, just the weight it can restrain. I think we're looking at this from these two diverging points of view. o_O :)

I like the way this YouTube video explains it, the easiest. :)

Yeap, needs 2 chains. Obviously too much weight for that 2" strap....lol. Atleast there is a bulkhead.....for safety and what not. :D
