I get 90% of the dentition paid....
My problem is getting held up and burning daylight.....
Especially on OD loads.....
Crossing the Rockies with an OD load in winter is tough enough....Getting shut down due to darkness sucks..... Especially when you could have left hours earlier and made it to Rifle.....

of course the bottom feeders dont want intervention because they dont want to have to pay the driver
-
EOBRs are just an inconveniance to the driver. They don't help the driver. They keep track of the driver. How is the eobr being put on line 3 sleeper keep track of sleep patterns?
-
If some guys want them use them. Just don't think the government has the right to do so. Hell maybe I chose the wrong field.
-
The biggest reason for not using them is to keep companys from threatening drivers. That was the reason the Supreme Court did not allow them to be used at companys with bad safety ratings, and after working for PTL being threatened with the loss of my job because of quallcom data I seethat the court did the right thing!

which court? companies are going to harass if you if that's the culture of the company. Hardly matters if they have eLogs or not. I'm not for forcing people on eLogs, in fact I don't think that long term eLogs are a real solution. It's a great tool when used properly both for the driver and the company.

to op's first post:
We have eobrs on out trucks at my work.
We have 25 drivers and service the nw and western canada.
VERY LOW turn over and we do not hire people with out 2 years OTR in snow. So your theory is wrong there. -
I believe the whole E-Log thing is being pushed because of insurance companies.
Example: Truck "A" gets into a serious wreck. Lawyers swoop in for an easy case. Tired trucker, look at his log. Insurance company says, whoa, our driver is on E-Log and we can PROVE he was rested and legal to be in that place at that time. No False Logs to hang anyone with.
I'm on E-logs. I never thought I could make any kind of money without being able to "fudge" once in awhile. What it has caused me to do is work harder at planning my trips better. I still make money without the paper log.
That being said, I do believe that they will cause a person to push when he shouldn't because he's ALWAYS watching that clock.
There should be some sort of change to enable the clock to stop or at the very least to be extended for the cases of the slow shippers and receivers everyone has to deal with.
