I’m likely going to be starting as a driver with Walmart soon.

Is it true that Walmart has continual, mandatory safety meetings that all drivers are required to attend….
and each and every meeting starts, and ends with everyone present clapping their hands, stomping their feet, and singing some type of song of allegience to Walmart?

I have heard from several drivers this is common practice at the Lewiston, Maine Walmart DC.

Reminds me of a magazine crew I worked when I was 18. Stomp your feet and get pumped up to go rip people off app day and do drugs all night. After two weeks move on to another city. Good times for a degenerate teen with no clue.

I don’t know about the drivers but I do know the store employees do that. At like 5 in the morning. I was in getting a few things early and heard clapping and chanting and “YAY WALMART!!” It was weird, wild stuff.

Not sure about the "Cheer" anymore, our Walmart has morning motivational meetings, but I don't recall hearing them chant anymore. Like the "greeter", has gone the way of common sense too. Not needed, people are going to come in anyway, and the chant is considered demeaning. Good for military or institutions, but it's designed to parlay the ego for a more team spirit. I believe it was motivational tactic started by Sam Walton himself. He never flew and made spot checks in his Thunderbird(?) to check on his stores unannounced.
As far as a driver having to do the chant, I don't think so, nice try boss, but you may have to wait until their "meeting" is over. All bigger companies have meetings, safety meetings they call them, propagated by their insurance, so get used to that, but you wouldn't catch me doing that silly crap.

There is a compilation of Walmart cheers on Youtube, it was so unsettling, I won't post it, but by looking at the types of people that are doing that cheer, the people that actually took the job in the 1st place, well, they aren't college grads, and for the most part, the last resort for a loser. They need direction, and why dictators gain power, they give the people the basics to live. Oh, by the way, there ARE some considerations, and borderlines mob mentality, or better yet, trucking recruiter claims. I truly believe, the store of the future will not even have human beings, but until then, it's how the stuff gets on the shelf. The managers instigating the "cheer", obviously have some sort of faded glory they are dealing with, or never made it in the military, you'll always have a job bolstering the lowest common denominator, the untrained worker.

It must be terribly difficult to sleep at night with black helicopters hovering over your house 24/7…
