Great advice! Here in Chicago it's very fast. At one point today O'Hare Airport reported west wind at 43mph sustained and 60mph gusts.
BostonTanker Thanks this. -
I had to park this morning at a rest area on I 35 north joice iowa due to the winds blowing at 33 mph pulling an empty trailer that was dancing in a way I though it would tip over

70MPH reported in a few locations. I was pushed out of my lane 5 times in the short stretch on 57 from I80 just down to Monee to scale out.

I feel ya.
I felt comfortable enough to keep moving. Granted the slower speeds helped me react better . If at anytime I felt unsafe, my fleet manager was already aware I would. He told me to shut down, I told him if I needed to i would. Just advised him I was gonna come up a few miles short of consignee due to slowing down to between 45-55 mph . Did 589 in 10 hrs today, that includes the gorge in NC, Smokey Mountains, Jellico in TN, hills of KY, and winds. Running on recap. Ran out of time 40 miles short of consignee in IN -
Good job fed ex.

There are permanent high wind warning signs on I 35 on the north end of the state. Also a lot of wind generators.
Few years ago saw 2 van trailers on their side in that area. -
I'm not a God fearing man, however somewhere in my thoughts I asked to get to my destination safely
Keep'em 18roll;ng Thanks this.
