Dispatcher to terminal manager, "We have to do something, boss! All of my drivers are unhappy!"

"And what makes you think that?"

    "Nobody is bellyaching!":biggrin_2559:

It's a fact of life. If the troops ain't bellyaching, they ain't happy.

I already said I didn't say anything about that because I didn't have any proof that he actually did any of that. But I have several friends that have gotten mixed up in that stuff. Staying up for long hours, and twitching are side effects. And let's face it; lot of truckers do illegal drugs, that's why we have random DOT drug tests.

I had already said that I was so overtired by the second day that I couldn't sleep. Plus hearing rumble bars and looking over from the drivers seat seeing his arm and leg twitch all the time made it even worse for me to get any sort of sleep.

We are doomed as a profession and a country If it is !!!

Wow! And you are a driving instructor? A person comes here to talk about how he was expected to completely ignore the rules and throw safety out the window. He then says that he had a problem with that and won't do it. We should be applauding him, not ridiculing him.

I am truly surprised by the tone of the responses in this thread.

We need to keep drivers of all vehicles with this bs attitude off the roads.

    very true, well said.

    +1

Its great to see people actually wanting to follow the rules, those that are coming down on him are showing some of the most unprofessional attitudes. Coming from a family of truck drivers, if I displayed that attitude I'd get a smack upside and be called a dumb ### and told to smarten up and for good reason. This crap is why so many people out there think drivers are dangerous, lazy and ignorant.

Don't risk your license by breaking rules and not enough sleep, only bottom feeders (drivers or companies) would even suggest any driver to do this or to just deal with it. There are always companies out there that want responsible drivers, I walked from a company just over a year ago cause they wanted me to break rules, went right to a company that doesn't pull that bs. Lifes been good since, sure some days are long and the work can be hard but its all legal, safe and decent pay. Keep your head up.
