The Worst Roads?

Nothing better than paying to drive through construction which is all the PA turnpike is. At least this year wasn't so bad with the end construction signs then 200 ft later, road construction starts 1/2 mile.

 

In regards to the PA turnpike, one of the reasons for the outrageous tolls is this. A few years ago, the oh so great Ed Rendell decided he needed to pay his crack dealers in Philly, so he effectively reached into the Turnpikes petty cash and pulled out something like 40 billion dollars. And this was not a one time deal. Evidently the good folks at penndot thought that since they cant manage their budget, and the turnpike had cash, they should be entitled to some. For years and years to come.......Jan 1st tolls go up another 10% and in 2014 another 10%.

I hear ya, I'd rather go over Donner any day than ride thru some WV coal towns like on 52 thru Delbarton, WV...OMFG what a terrible road anytime of year, but in the winter, extreme nightmare...

 

Came down PA route 120 from Emporium to Renovo me and another guy hauling vans, we stopped 10 miles from Renovo and did a walk around and everything looked good, even torqued a few down for good measure. By the time we get to Renovo I notice the front van on my buddy's truck was off the rack hanging. Just one example of why PA gets my vote for the worst roads. Oh, and I 81 sux.

Great, just found out I'm going back up route 120 again tomorrow. I don't know if my guts can handle another day of punishment from this so called "road"

 

Right now 40 between West Memphis and Forest City. Jesus Christ!!!

 

Look on the bright side! Couple of really good places to eat up there. And if you're lucky, you may spot some elk!
