I had to pick up from Pilgrim's in Boaz, AL a couple weeks ago and experienced the same thing. We did a favor for a broker outside of our company who needed a team to get a load done in time. They tell us the appointment is 5pm which is about 2 hours from the time they give us the load and we're 8 hours away. They still say no problem just get there. We show up and the guy starts yelling at us saying we were supposed to be there at 8am rather than the 5pm they told us, which we're late either way so whatever. It's not my company's load, our company is just doing these guys a favor so honestly I really don't give a crap. I tell him I drive a truck, not a time machine. Apparently they take a 15 minute break every half hour and have 4 lunches a day so about 7 hours later they finally have us loaded. One pallet sat on the dock in front of the trailer for 1 1/2 hours without moving.

They tell us it's a 5pm delivery the next day which we make it about a half hour early. Low and behold, lied to again. It was a 1pm delivery according to the receiver. $50 late fee later and I was finally done hauling their crap. Never hauling for that broker or shipper again.

Yeah, Pilgrims Pride is fun. Most chicken places are the same. You wait as it comes off the line. The thing is a chicken has two of everything. Except if you have an order of chicken livers or such. They move onto the next trailer while they gather a million livers for you. I've had pickup numbers that didn't exist or someone else got that load. I think only one time I was lucky and had a drop/hook. Those are usually dedicated accounts.

Good luck bud. It seems like some of these shippers know when you can't afford it, take it, deal with it, and so on. Sometimes that when their gamesmanship hits a fever pitch. Just sayin:biggrin_25523::biggrin_25513::biggrin_2553::biggrin_2554:

well....unlike the Pilgrims Prides everyone else is complaining about-I got there at 1309-my loading time being 2000-figured on getting a break in b4 getting loaded BUT at 1600 they were pounding on my door to back her in.I didnt even start up my reefer until I arrived there-and was done without even 1/2 of an 8 hour break in so...this one must not be in tune with the bad ones...and I asked if I could park and they said sure-no problem-they were actually very nice.Unlike where I unloaded b4 going there-at McCall Farms in Effingham SC-wouldnt even let me in til 30 min b4 appt-not allowed out of truck-had to wait for them to come beat on my door for unload and then to bring me back my signed paperwork.

I just finally get word that I can now prociede to a dock to get unloaded, 12 hrs. later after checking in this AM here at Schwans in Florence,KY.,Never again will I ever come back here again!! It was my brokers first and last load she will ever send here again also. The shippers were not at all happy either. I used to love Schwans ice cream, still do but no longer will patrinize it no more. Anyone ever had this kinda problem? Oh, they tell you that the had problems and short help, but they can jump some others ahead of you when they say first come first served. Funny how eader they are tho when you mention atturney getting involved, not that I would but get frusterating especially when you had another $1200 dollar load to I could have had, but now can't fullfill becouse of being held over, WAY over time. Oh well, another kick in the pants for a truck driver.

Im at Golden State Foods in Rochester, NY. Company provided strict instructions NOT to drive onto property until walking in and checking in. There are 2 gates here that are open. No guards. Not sure what all they do, but Mcdonalds deliveries are a big part. Parked out on this dead end street taking my 10, parked far from that almighty gate! They seem to unload fairly quick though.

Another 'Golden State Foods', this one in Lemont, IL on 137th St. Always a 'drop and hook' for good ole JB Hunt. Been there 20-25 times to deliver. 90 % of the time the delivery is for 0400-0600. Small place, too many trailers....and NEVER any m/t trailers to pull out.
