I picked up at Budweiser in St Louis and I hadnt even parked in the holding parking area when security called me to a door. Must have pissed all the waiting drivers off!

Seems like most companies mentioned are in the food industry. Wonder why they are the worst?

Grocery DCs are generally live unloads with quite frequently as many as 50 to 100 different products in a load. Those pallets have to be broken down and counted- that takes time, and there are never enough checkers available. Add a healthy dose of inefficiency, and you've got quite a mess. Especially for drivers used to a steady diet of drop 'n hook, no-touch freight.

Thank you that makes sense. We make salad dressing and deliver to grocery DCs but we have one product and unload ourselves... well unless an aggressive lumper grabs our load before our driver can stop 'em. :biggrin_25525:

I put the over/under at 4 hours for tonight's 8pm appointment at C&S York, PA. Place your bets. Mixed general mills load, some cereal, some snack type items.

6-7 hours. It's Friday night, someone will call in sick, lol ES3, so let me change that:
    9-11 hours:
30 minutes to get through gate(one person working it)
2 hours for yard dog to come get you to let you know what dock to back in
5-7 hours to unload; make sure to drop that trailer and pull out, lol
1.5 hours to get paper work and get checked out at the exit gate. Paper work got lost, never came through the computer, I can't find it, are sure they told to hook up and leave, was it a yard dog that told you? Ya, those are the excuses I have heard before, lol

What use to be a 1 hour p/u, gate to gate, turned into a 2-4 hour p/u gate to gate the last year that I was running a route out that way.
