So, I'm starting with TMC on Monday. When i was a company driver they had both the green and yellow wires hooked up and told us the yellow controlled abs. They also had a dump valve switch. So, my truck has a green wire and a yellow plug (with no pigtail yet) The yellow port is labled ABS and I never used it pulling vans. ABS worked fine on the green wire.

So, where do i buy the yellow wire? The one pin is different then the green one. Truck pro and the truck stops dont have the yellow one. truck pro said they could order it for 180 bucks which seems outrages for a wire. Also for the dump valve, from what i understand, thats run through the green wires abs control? I'm guessing thats why they need the yellow since they use the greens for the dump. Since i have no dump valve switch, do i need to put a switch on the green wire abs to activate the dump valve?

I drive a 2006 FL Columbia and the trailers are 05-07 Bensons equipped with ABS and dump valve. Almost all have both green and yellow sockets aside from a few real old ones that don't have abs. The dump valve still works on the real old ones without the yellow wire connected so the dump is controlled by the green wire.

    Thanks

ABS will also work off the brake lamp signal if tractor is pre '97 (no ABS) or some malfunction in the center blue ABS power wire.

If you just need to add wire for dump valve just get a 14 ga wire and wrap it around the 7 way green coiled cable and stick the end where it needs to go. Beats buying an overpriced 7 way yellow coil cable for just one wire.

tractor is 2006. The company gave me a yellow one since i couldn't find one local. If yellow is unpluged trailer abs light goes on, so, atleast some of the abs isn't routed through the green.

I'm surprised then that TMC "customizes" their trailer wiring.

Quite possible. At Martin-Marietta Materials (with assets formerly belonging to Lafarge), the trailers had the additional wire for the ABS (although this one was four pins), and the dump controls (for belly dumps) were routed through them, as well.
