We have two people at each door to unlock the carts. One is a security guard. Also we always have half of our checkouts open and 2 self checkouts. Along with those sensors there’s one at the pharmacy and Starbucks. During busy times we are the only store that has all the checkouts open.
Theft has gotten so bad, walmart is now doing this..

Blame it on the people that run out with $1200.00 in detergent or 1k in hbc or just a 600.00 grocery cart.
hope not dumb twucker, drvrtech77 and Sirscrapntruckalot Thank this. -
I wonder if they are more concerned with trying to keep the customers or the employees from stealing.

If anybody is interested the cartwheel locks use the same kind of technology as invisible dog fences. There's a low power radio frequency fed through a single wire making a loop that they bury in the lot and the wheels receive that frequency and lock.
I'm surprised Walmart is willing to spend the money on body cameras when they put up fake cameras in high theft areas all over the store. If you ever see one of those small dome cameras with a single wire coming out of it above the shelving it's a bad fake. I've noticed it a lot but I don't know why nobody's ever mentioned it.hope not dumb twucker Thanks this. -
America needs to have a national conversation on stealing. In all it's variations. Hopefully it will lead to a society where everybody doesn't feel like they need to kype or pilfer from their neighbors in order to have a satisfactory life.

I kinda think this problem will take care of itself. Stores just close up and leave cities where the communists are in charge. And how would you like to pay a general business liability policy premium for any sort of business in downtown Seattle, Portland, or Minneapolis nowadays?Oxbow, broke down plumber and hope not dumb twucker Thank this.

I was thinking more of a national conversation in moral terms. I just went to the grocery store in a car I paid for and bought everything I needed with the money I earned from doing blue collar work. I didn't need to steal it. I didn't need to be part of a flash mob stealing a bunch of sodas and cigarettes from the corner convenience store.Sons Hero, hope not dumb twucker and broke down plumber Thank this.

Morals change like the wind from one generation to the next from one social status to the next from one culture to the next what needs to be discussed is society going to uphold criminal law if it aint then katie bar the door . A lock keeps an honest man honest sort of deal.hope not dumb twucker and Numb Thank this.
