People love to complain, it's just a fact of life. My wife is a charge nurse (RN) works three days a week (fri, sat, sun 12 hrs each) makes $75,000 dollars a year and complains about her job every day. If I was making 75k for working three days a week I wouldn't complain about anything, even if they hit me in the head with a hammer twice a day.
Ga Dawg141 Thanks this. -
It's kinda what our country has turned into I think. Most people want something for nothing and everyone gets a trophy. Pretty sad....

There may be a desk job in trucking if you'd rather... dispatch, planning .. make them drivers happy

Not sure I could put up with the complaining. I have 106, 18 to 24 year olds to look after that have turned my hair gray already!! Thanks for the idea though.

Where abouts will you be located when you want to start in trucking , nice to get a company close to home .
-
I'll be located in Fort Worth.

Don't let the negative Nellies influence your decision. I too found the negativity abundant, but I took the plunge anyway, refusing to let others influence my experience. I'm really happy with my decision so far and haven't looked back. You will meet far more people out here who are positive than negative.
Good luck OP!Considering Thanks this. -

You really need to follow China's advice ...he's a super helpful guy and and has lots of info. You'll find complainers all over this industry and then you'll find the ones like me who started as teen in the mid '60's driving a tanker for an uncle , went into the service , came home and drove a dump truck for a while , then got a job running OTR for about 3 years. Lucked-up and got a job that I stayed at for 33 years and loved very minute of it...retired at 63 in 2011 and now at 65 I'm lovin it. Good luck in search for the oil field jobs...I've heard they really pay well.Considering Thanks this.
