my apu just blows cold air is there a valve i need to turn on lol ?
-
If you have a ThermoKing, the fan blower system only blows the air that is in the cab, or goes over its AC system, there is NO heat through the fan blower system. A separate opening on the floor is for the Espar style heater. If it only blows cold air, and does not light, then you either have an igniter issue or fuel supply problem.
-
Should I use or not use the fan option on my thermo King control panel at the same time as the heat option.
I have a tri pack not evolution tri pack. -
You can only use HEAT option for heat. when you use FAN it will only run fan on condenser unit of APU and not a heater. Thermo King uses separate ESPAR diesel fired heater for heat.
-
You don't need to run the fan when you have the heat on, but you can try using it to circulate more air. But the air being blown by the fan unit will NOT be warm.

So under my trip package thermo king I received it with a note saying.
"Heater operation"
Key in acc position
Trip package in "null" mode
and on right there is a different knob, and under it , it says heater control .
So the APU charges the batteries while the truck is in acc mode, but the only way the heater can work is in acc mode? is that the only way I can run it?? -
I have a tri-pak apu and the heat use to work fine. Then noticed last night, along with now, it comes on...blows a little but no heat. I don't hear the clicking sound anymore. Not sure if it's getting fuel or what but it definitely sucks.

Every TK heater in the country Will go bad in a few short years. All you have to do is run it on high for 15-20 minutes every few weeks. Then at the end of the cold season disconnect the fuel pickup line put it in a quart jar with kerosene in it turn the heater on high and let it cook for 25-30 minutes.
learn how to replace the glow pin screen about $10, then clean the unit with kerosene. You will save yourself hundreds upon hundreds oh dollarsroshea, mitmaks and SuperRookie Thank this.
