What I've found interesting is that TK has two additional packages : arctic and extreme arctic. the regular package is not any help during the winter. Check with TK dealer for those options.

I have a tripac that will not sense low voltage.I jumped the 2 white wires on the artic switch and it starts right up.just will not start when low voltage is 11.6.It does charge when it is running but I have to jump artic switch to do so.
-
the start up low voltage is a programmable number, so it is possible it could be set at something way too low, like 10 volts. The only way you could find that out is by connecting to the brain box, and I think only dealers have the software package to do this.
You may also want to check the wires at the alternator on the unit. This is where they "sense" the voltage, you could have a broken or corroded connection there. -
Thanks for the info.I have voltage at sense wire in box so I think the wire is ok.But is not working thru circuit board.Want to make sure before spending $1000 on new board.Doesn't anybody repair these boards?

You need to have it looked at by a TK dealer there no way that broad is bad. If it not charging it might be not starting because of no input from the alternator. If it was mine I would go the dealer and have it checked out before throwing parts at it.

My TriPac is a little over 2 years old and has been trouble free except an alternator belt and a fuse for the condenser motor.
I do have a mystery however in that sometimes it doesn't turn over enough to start when sensing a low voltage condition but if I immediately switch it to ac mode it fires right up.
If I leave it to run its course it will continue to try and start 2 or 3 times then fall idle and not try again leaving my batteries dead in the morning or starts on the 3rd try and does its thing.
It immediately starts in ac mode but only tries to when sensing low voltage.
Any ideas on what might be causing this? -

same here installed april,2012 I had it in last week to be serviced and to address the low start. They checked the settings which were 12.1 and raised them to 12.4...They said if it could very well be reading 12.1 and really be at 11.9 which it may start or not. So far so good although he did tell me my batteries are likely near the end of life. I know I wouldn't want to truck without that little heater. Love that thing!
