take home for 1st and 3rd. cant re all that 6 months of hell as private security take home. Wasnt much though.

 

Not all of us do....
I HATE trucking but it has it's moments. The dedicated my co driver and I run is great as is the money. Drivers need to get the gonads to stand like I did a few times and either quit a company that is crap or let that cheap freight sit.

Look at all these trucks going nowhere on I 80 in Wyoming.
Not one soul getting paid..but the truck stops are doing well!!!

 

Some companies pay a base rate per day.

 

Now I just fill out half an application...if they really want to hire you..they'll call.

 

Industry has gotten too greedy and big brotherish. speed and RPM governors, elogs, driver facing cameras, truck that shuts off after 5 minutes where you told it to or not, "quailcomms" beeping at you like you're a Pavlovian dog. And they wonder why nobody wants these jobs. And no, they don't want to pay you anything decent either. Who's excited!

 

It's an easy job on a good day. It's everybody else you have to deal with that makes it stupid.
