I cant complain, but I can on dumb things. You just have to realize what parts about trucking you cant change and just deal with them and not get all worked up.
They all suck!

Actually, after more contemplation there is only one job that matters to me and thats my job as a daddy. As long as my children can attend to schools I want them to, I can afford a nanny to help out my wife, I can afford for them to have some farm animals, a toy or two (thousand) and I am able to show them that hard work provides for them as I feel a dad should then it's on me to make the most of it.
Like I stated earlier I took a job in Aquatics Wildlife Management and even found some things I did'nt like ABOUT GETTING PAID TO BE IN A BOAT ALL DAY!!!!!
I worked with a guy at the job who #####ed all day about the pay which was pretty low but he just made me miserable! Then the hours dropped off and I coukd not find a truck fast enough. I'm going to miss hauling cars but at least I can get out to unload plants.
I lived a crazy, dangerous lifestyle as a young man so to be 40 happily married, three boys all healthy ages 4 and two 3 yr old twins, have a nice brick home fully paid off, in ground pool, cool pick up, Honda 4 wheeler, sweet guns / bow, loving family that lives close etc, etc,etc I can simply find way too juch other stuff to think about.
One thing still stresses me but I shall not mention it again here! -
well after 35 years of driving i still love it,i don't love what its become, but love being on the road

These posters are more than correct... I left trucking to become a firefighter and have been doing just that for 17 yrs. In May I received a 6% pay cut and on Sept 3rd another 6% pay cut. As if that is not enough I also received a letter from administration that states that all city firefighters owe the city pay increases they gave us going back to 2010. So take every hour worked over the last 2 yrs and multiply by the amount of any pay increase and for me that works out to $12,000 I must pay back...... I agree that truckers are not treated very well but believe me that treatment extends into plenty of other professions -
Crankinwise do you know why the cuts/retro pay decrease? I can tell ya but not in the forum. It's political!
I've been looking at some very scary numbers that my aunt has been showing me, who has worked for the government for 37 years. Its amazing what is coming down the pipe and most people just don't want to hear it!
I feel for you man, paying back $12,000 is a huge slap in the face. When you consider that someone's house that voted YES SCREW EM may have been a house you prevented from destrustion.
Believe me I'm not sure how much your aware of but it's going to be a very rough road ahead of us and most people are justbtoo apathatic to care.
Again so sorry to hear it man. -
Its really sad the way company's now days treat their drivers. In my 43 years in this business the last 30 years have been terrible for lots of drivers. All company management now days are very uneducated and very unreasonable this is with all company's today. They just don't care you will not find a truth
worthy company out here. The turn over is bad in all aspects of this business. I stay with it because I like to drive -
Cat sdp Thanks this.
