I have an opinion on this matter.

    Suck it up buttercup.

This happens to everyone, especially us local drivers.

I've taken my 2 hours off before and gone back.

No, I don't like it, and certainly don't like making a habit out of it.

Every week when I start on Wednesday night @ 2300 I'm typically fried, from minimal sleep the previous two days.

I can still function at a high level, and I'm getting to be an old man.

At least once a week I get off at say 1000, after a 11 or 12 hour day, and have to be back @ 2000 for an occasional night time delivery to a food warehouse.

While I can relate to you not liking the discomfort, and you speaking up like they teach you at CRE orientation, your issue is what I describe as vaginitis.

Simply walk in, tell everyone that you hate them all, and go do your job.

I cleared $1800 today. After taxes, insurance. Company driver, home every night. Don't have to kill myself, but do have to git r done sometimes. That's for 2 weeks. No overtime either, all straight. But it's a lot better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick.

Oh boy not a good way to start a new job
They sure don't seem to mind gambling with your license
Thing is: if you have a clean license you can work any where you want pretty much
Im very picky who i drive for but i also have a very clean cdl and i will quite a job before i let them trap me in
If pays off tho because my driving jobs last yrs so my job history isn't banged up neither
So i can keep an eye out for prime jobs
I must mention that i live near a big city with lots of opportunity
I know some drivers don't have this so im thankful
I probably wouldn't stay in trucking without other opportunities involed

    "Dang it Dave "
You're right i should've never roughed them up
    But it worked
Hopefully i won't have to straighten them out anymore from this day forth and next time ill just keep my mouth shut so i don't scare em as bad but i think I've planted a seed so there won't be need for words
Im thankful for my job as it is now im sitting here making a buck at a meijers dock, i take home alittle over a grand a week
day shift -M thru F. Ot after 40 And
They won't dare call me on weekends BUT I. Also drive circles around half our fleet and have a well earned reputation for efficiency, proformance, attendence, & saftey
Without being a hard worker with such value they probably would have fired me for this incident. I have seen them fire drivers for less so im very thankful but yes im a fiesty rebel at times

    bzinger Thanks this.

The OP would hate my schedule. Monday I started at 4 am, worked 10 hrs, got off at 2pm, Tuesday started at 2 am, worked 14 hrs, Weds. started at 3 am, worked 12 hrs, had EXACTLY 10 hrs off, pre-hooked and pre-tripped my load for the next day before I left, Thursday I pulled in the yard at 1am, let the truck warm for 5 minutes while I logged in and was on the road at 1:05 am to be in Albuquerque at 8:00 am. Had a 3 hr unload so I caught a nice nap, refueled in Abq. Drove 3.5 hrs, parked at 3 pm ish and took my 8 (8/2 split), rolled back into Denver at 2:30 am, crawled into my own bed at 3:15, I'm up now, have to be back at work at 1pm and do a 6 hr afternoon shift. It happens.

This is trucking, it screws with your circadian no matter what. "threatening" the company, be it passive aggressively or however because you didn't get enough sleep, that's not their problem, that's your problem for not planning accordingly. Ove the course of almost 20 yrs of my schedule changing daily, I've learned to sleep when I can. I've had weeks straight where I'm lucky to get 10 hrs off, if my boss could, he'd only give me 8 hrs off, and I only live 10 minutes from the office.

BTW, on Weds. when I got off at 3pm, I had to come home, get my wife get a bite of dinner, do to our 5 pm chiropractor appt., I got to bed at 6 pm. Basically had about 6 hrs sleep. Over the years, I've learned to look for substitutes to help with sleep, Benadryl, Nyquil, Nyquil and a shot. Try going to bed at 2pm on a Sunday afternoon when the neighborhood kids are outside screaming, or when the horse farm next door is running heavy equipment building a barn. My body runs on caffeine, sometimes it's coffee, sometimes it's Mtn. Dew, sometimes it's nodoz. It's a fact of life. But, as others said, take a nap when you need to.

    They 'felt' threatened, lol.

Everyone who says that having 10 hours off means you're legal should get familiar with 392.3, the most important part of the HOS IMO.

You're not so sure about that are you? Probably not because you're not so sure about anything about me
    .....right? It's ok tho
I asked for honest opinions and you gave me yours, eventho it's alittle unstable.
Isn't this fun BQ ? Welcome to TTR
I didn't mean offend any of you special drivers out there , don't worry not everyone wants to be a special driver so the butt surfing is all yours to enjoy BQ if that's your thing i don't know and none of my business, we understand everyone is different

It doesn't get more basic than don't drive when too ill or fatigued.

Superflow...you might have won the battle but I'll bet you'll lose the war. Your office is very aware of you now and not in a good way. I would imagine that, one way or another, your days there are limited.
Doesn't matter how good of a driver you are. If you get in their face without a good reason...and you didn't have one this particular time...they'll find a way to make things uncomfortable for you. You've see it happen I'm sure.
If that job is as good as you say they'll have plenty of applicants to replace you. A week after you're gone they won't even remember what you looked like.
Best be getting your resume ready.
