I was going to ask exactly the same question.

Day one - Spend 3 hours calling Lawyers who are willing to take this case.
Day two - Take the $5,000 retainer to the Lawyer....
Fast foreword 5 years and $10,000 later, U.S. Express is broke anyway and changes their name to U.S.A. Express with a different DOT number after their bankruptcy.

Yeah cus this one rookie is going to bankrupt a billion dollar company cus he didn't get the gravy run. U.S. could flash a few attorneys and make the OP's life hell.

This happens all the time. They were hiring for the account at the time, however, by the time you got ready to upgrade they had filled all available spots....possibly with current employees, new experienced drivers, or new inexperienced drivers that happened to finish training before you. It sucks, but its not your spot until your ready to roll. Its not just a US Express thing.

Welcome to trucking. Unfortunallly this will happen to you again. It takes time and a little luck to find a decent company. Here's a tip, develop thick skin cause it's gonna be rough for maybe two years. Then it gets better.. Good luck

It was a test. It was a test of this company's integrity. They failed.

He earns the title of job hopper. They earn the title of King ******* Liar. Everybody loses.

"learn the job"...which job? The decent job they initially offered, or the rotten job they can only fill by lying to people?

yeah it's par for the course, that doesn't mean he's the problem for not realizing how corrupt and disgusting people can be in this business. You have to see it to believe it.

    Green Giant?

It was a test of the drivers ability to withstand B.S. He failed.

The company has a job that needs to get done. Maybe they lied, maybe they didn't. We will not know, unless your the recruiter that "lied" to him.
His response should have been OK, where is the truck.
It is the lack of willingness to do what is necessary when told to by the "EMPLOYER" that is causing many to lose their jobs today. Its the ME generations major downside. They feel the need to do nothing that isn't what they want to do.
