They see me rollin...they hatin....

    I got pulled over by a Texas DPS DOT Tahoe today on US277 North of Haskell, TX. When I saw him make the uturn, I first thought he was going after tur car that passed me a little while before. But no, he pulls me over. Since my truck is governed at 69 and I.was on a 70 mph road, I knew it wasn't speeding.

    I watched as he walked up the side of the trailer. He checked the tires real quick, then the Texas.inspection sticker on the trailer and then climbed up on the side step.

    Ociffer: "How are you doing sir?"

    Me: "Pretty good."

    "Where are you headed today?"

    "Sauk Rapids, MN."

    "How are your logs looking?"

    "Pretty good, I left Odessa this morning.". I showed him my logsheet for today.

    "Looks good. How long have you worked for this company?"

    "Just started, not even a month."

    "How are they?"

    "So far I'm happy sir, no.complaints."


    "Ok, let me see your CDL and medical card and if everything is all up to.date, you're free to go."


    I handed him my CDL and medical card, he looked them over, handed them back. "Thank you sir, have a good day and drive safe."

    From what my father in law told me as well.as my dispatcher, the DPS officers along US277 are sizing us up since up until recently, Munoz routed their trucks up US54 from El.Paso into Oklahoma and Kansas rather than US277 so our trucks were a rare sight. I figure they want to make sure we aren't a bunch of illegal immigrants running a fly by night organization.

    That's funny. Consider yourself lucky to be governed at 69. The term is called racial profiling.

    Good thing my oldest daughter wasn't with me, she's obviously Mexican. I'd hate to tell her mom that our daughter got deported. :p

    Has nothing to do with racial profiling. Those DPS in Tahoe's are mostly truck enforcement. So they pull over lots of trucks ready to make a quick buck on log violations.

    Which is why I keep my #### together and up to date. I.already have a bunch of Bill collectors lining up to get a piece of me without adding the state of Texas to that list!

    Border Patrols are very poorly trained, One got killed couple weeks ago when he opened fire on the two people he went to that spot with, in Naco AZ. They are very poorly trained

    Here's a question, do all Texas DPS officers have the authority to enforce commercial truck regulations/perform inspections or is.it just certain officers like the ones in the Tahoes.

    Never noticed any difference in uniforms like they have in Arizona or New Mexico.

    The men in the tahoes are DOT men. Some of the speed cops in the cars have their certification, not all of them. The DOT Sargents have a solid color like Grey or silver unmarked car. The tahoes carry portables, however if there is a set of scales nearby don't count on them using the portables. Grain elevators are a favorite.

    if there is still racial profiling you need to stay out of NH whitest state in the union according to the census
    only blk family in my hometown been there since the underground railroad . He ended up being class valedictorian
    and went to Air Force Academy
