My very first trucking job on my very first run, drove from LA to Chicago. Arrived at the delivery in a blinding snow storm. Stepped out to zip up my coat and my door blew shut, locked, with my keys inside, and my wallet, and my phone. Took 6 hours to get a guy out to open it while I slowly froze to death.
My former boss (a jerk) once took an off ramp to pee, jumped out between the cab and trailer and forgot to set the brakes. Both rear tractor axles ran over his legs and broke them both. He still drives today, but with a handicap placard and a grumpier attitude.Brickwall, rabbiporkchop and SingingWolf Thank this.
