Are you saying you ran 5000 mile weeks as a solo driver or a team driver?

 

5000 miles as a solo driver.

 

Company I first drove for out of Missouri was like that. The two years I was there, did driver appreciation stuff that was legit. Huge all pig BBQ, potlucks and more. It was 100% old school compared to what’s out there now. Sad they sold the company this year. Owner died, wife didn’t want to mess with it. Lots of life long truckers at that company, sad to see it sold. Even though it didn’t work out for me and would not have because they would’ve sold out anyhow, I was lucky because I got to see a glimpse into how trucking used to be.

I get half that many miles as a solo driver.

 

Honest to goodness TRUCK STOPS that are just that-not the TRAVEL CENTER BS that’s been ongoing-where truck parking is just that-for TRUCKS-no 4 wheelers taking up truck parking. The only truck stop so far(ironically) where I’ve actually seen that enforced is the 49er in Sacramento,California where it’s paid parking.

Oh yuck I was right there with you till the mention of the 49er, I am local and will only get fuel there when absolutely the only choice I have. You are correct about the parking they have a large yard and it is for trucks only but I park at home lol
