Thanks MW, I just started looking in to this but might be in touch. One reason I might buy new is warranty and possibly color.

After reading your post more thoroughly, I see what your going for.

My 2021 trailers are basically spec’d to the max like your looking for only without shiny front and aluminum wheels. Add sky lights, and vented front and rear, plus scale. They were 33,500. After adding placard holders I believe finalized at 33,900.

Add shiny front, Alcoa wheels, 1 more tire carrier your probably looking at about $3000 more I’d estimate. I know with wabash they have different paint colors you can go with from the factory. I do not know if there is much additional cost or not. By the way the duraplate skirts on the wabash trailers are basically bullet proof. I haven’t had one single problem with them. I love their sureloc handle system as well.

So I’d say your looking at $38,000 give or take a little depending on if you keep the skirts or not.

Edit: They also have different color skirts you can go with. Maybe black skirts with silver trailer?

I am a little surprised here... I never thought of a dry van in terms of aesthetics. It's been always about utility and durability. Something I would recycle every 5-6 years right at the time it is paid off and still retain a decent trade off value. I would definitely add a spare tire carrier below (capacity for two) and perhaps a side storage box.

Joe, generally speaking I agree but honestly so much stuff in this business is white I just want to be a little different. I'm not the type to spend money on custom paint and chrome for my rig but owning a trailer and having to look at it all the time changes the game for me.

I actually looked at a million trailers before I found my Dane with the nice wheels and polished nose and tail. It just sets it apart a little bit. When my truck and trailer are clean I get compliments all the time. I kind of chuckle because to me it's just another Volvo but it is where I spend a majority of my time and I take pride in my ride.

If I'm buying new I'll bling it out a little.

@midwest, that's a pretty dang good price for a new van. I bought this 2015 used in 2018 and they weren't giving them away then, I think I paid between 25 and 30 for it. If I can sell it soon for half that I'll be happy.

How long did you have to wait? If you had a great dealer experience care to share? PM if you'd rather.

Thanks Brett, those pics were right after I got the trailer, not quite as clean a couple years later. You can't see it but I bought that trailer out of Minnesota and there's a lot of rust under it.

What ever will you do when it rains and snows and your dry van becomes wet? Will you pull over to towel it dry every 15 minutes? :p

Good luck to you. Hope you find the van you're looking for and make plenty of money with it.
