How much depreciation can you write off and for how many years? I was looking at friends numbers and one question he can't answer. He paid 58,000 for truck, it's right at 10 months and he has 103,000 miles. If you look that truck up on KBB I'm excellent condition it has a value today of 28,000. TAKE away 10 months of payments and his "business" is worth half of what he owes on it?

He might think about taking the mileage deduction. If I recall it is .55 mile. When he does it that way he can do it every year. But by doing it that way he can not write repairs off.

Just curious where you got your load from down to Florida and how it paid so well without a trailer ? Trying to make ends meet but finding independent loads is tough and hard to come by. Do you just have the bed of your pickup truck your haulingeith then? And do you just have the truck legal with DOT authority and what type of insurance? Thanks

3.73, unless you haul in a lot of mountainous areas. My truck and trailer combo weighs in at 18,000lbs. I won't haul anything over 14,000 lbs.

Ok that's what I was thinking. I just bought a 2016 3500 Cab and Chassis with 3.73 gears. This will be my 1st Dodge. Been running a 04 Ford F450 with 4.88:1 and it's like night and day.
