You are right. I am from Indiana and they are rare in my area. Anytime I notice one for sale it is from Ca. I notice hay haulers use them.
    Good-luck to you Phroziac.

I remember the L10 Cummins but never drove one. The only things I can think of you could do is Hotshot(maybe) or move trailer houses or RV's. If I remember right that L10 is pretty under powered and light. Not much you can do to it to upgrade it either. I agree with some of the other posts here. You really need to find a job for the truck that it can do and then make your move.JMO

I dont think i want it from what you guys say about the L10

stepnfetchit, it is pretty flat where i live and i could probably get a hydraulic ball hitch from a nearby big truck junkyard, but....any idea where i'd even look for a gig moving RVs? I've never even thought about it before but those RVs are expensive, so there must be some money involved. LOL. "some", not "a lot".

Roadmedic can tell you about moving RV's but I can tell you there's no money in it to speak of . You are only paid one way and almost always deadhead back so if the rate is $1.10 mile you are actually on making $.55
I just saw a nice hotshot rig come up for sale . 99 FL70 with 220,00 miles . Averages 9 mpg and for $34,000 comes with a 50' stepdeck equipped with chain , tarps , etc . This guy made good money with this truck but his customers offered him a better contract that requires a Class 8 tractor . I told the owner to join here and post full info on the classifieds here .

nice truck but quite a bit out of my price range. Infact, i'd go so far as to say the nicest hotshot truck i've ever seen.

I'll PM roadmedic. Even if its a sucky gig i'd like to research it. Maybe i can do something local with that...

There used to be a forum for RVhaulers but it shut down not long ago and the domain is for sale . I was leased to Bennett and their best agents were in KY and MD allowing hauling back out of those states but Fleetwood permanently closed plants in KY , MD , TX , and CA .
Quality RV Transport has driveaway division and they were looking for drivers for contracts in Garland and Laredo , TX . They quoted take home pay of $500 a week .

    RickG, hmm.

The annoying thing about bennet is they want 2 years "Equipment hauling" experience for any o/o.

$500 a week? I make more than that now. o_O I'm guessing thats not an OO job, right?

Anyway, i dont want to be an o/o for more money, just for less company caused stress. I mean, like, waiting hours for approval for a shop repair, stupid things like that. Plus i hate having a boss... LOL.

L10 is a 10 liter cummins engine that is for light weight/local work, 330hp maximum and 1250lb torque, it was phased out around the time the N14 became the way of the dinosaur, 2000ish or so? Its a good local truck engine but i wouldnt haul heavy OTR with it. not that you cant but I WOULDNT lol.
