Are you O/O, L/O, or company driver? Why I ask bc I don't know and pay could vary. So here's my stand point from what I've heard and as well as a roehl door slammer myself. I'd also ask on the roehl thread from the flat guys there or just general opinion. Alot of different opinions on there could sway u to stay flat or go the opposite. Personally if I was flat I'd stay flat. One bc of the pay, 2 bc I've heard the customer base in flat actually gives a rip that u have their product for them as in its more personal than some twat behind thick glass barking at you. If its the miles that your not getting maybe run it by your fm or even get another and see if there's a change. Easier work I'd say sure it is easier work with the sacrifice of 4-5 cpm. If you pull a van to get back to the flat running area b4 basically that pay for running that van trip is what you'll get paid most likely I'd assume. Reefer division at roehl I hear mixed reactions. If you live in WI then sure you'll get the miles and run good. Outside of that really the freight in my opinion isn't there. I've pulled reefer myself prob 10 times for roehl being a van driver. Extra 2 cpm mostly dry freight in a reefer up to middle of WI just to get the trl in their running area for reefer. Done that 8/10 times. 1 time they were short on drivers and needed load delivered. Other time a relay of yogurt from OH back to WI where I eventually dropped the trl for a dry box. So if you don't mind the pay decrease for easier work then yeah go for it.
