I just finished at ustds in denver at wheatridge, it may be bad mouthing by the school on another school, but a fellow student asked about cr england training, and one of the instructors advised against it, mainly because when you graduate its a "CR England Diploma" whereas theirs is federally recognised as a CDL Diploma, but hey, like everything, take it with a grain of salt. I can say USTDS is a great school, the instructors are good, they will keep you their long enough to pass, alot of it comes down to you, I was out their every ####### morning in the snow running through the pre trip on my own just to hone it to perfection, whereas some of the guys today (we tested today) didnt, and then when it came to the pre trip, forgot the brake test....

CRST has a facility in Fontana. I am trying to get into a county funded school which is not easy. If it doesn't happen I may try the carrier training. There are lots of vids on youtube made by students and employees of just about every carrier there is. Take them with a grain of salt because I figure people are more inclined to make a negative vid than a positive one. They are pretty informative, though. Good luck.

OK, I just finally graduated CR Englands course and got my CDL today. Heres what I have to say for anyone reading this who is considering coming here, its important.
This program worked for me, barely. I am only one of four people who made it, all the rest of the 12 failed. (Actually 2 of them get one last retest next week but I wont be here ill be gone). And this is just the 12 Illinois students. We lost alot more than this before they segregated us. (Long story but if your from Illinois it's a seperate program here).
This school has a very high failure rate. I know the only reason I passed was because I drove through the 90s and almost all of it came back to me, if it werent for this I would have failed. I failed the skills test last wednesday but I retested today and got it.
First, this is an accelerated course. You simply don't have the time to practice and get good. Each skills test I got to try 4 times before I went to the DMV to test. If your new to truck driving, this is not nearly enough time to learn these backing manuvers.
The Illinois test is simply a #####. If your not an already skilled truck driver, I recommend going elsewhere. Lots of people I made friends with just went home empty handed wasted alot of time and money for nothing -
Thanks for the warning.
