There's a member here, Rawlco, who works for them and is quite happy there.

Man, thanks all for the posts, I also graduate from Roadmaster on the 24th. TMC is my top choice, followed by Falcon, US Xpress, and Werner sent me a prehire for a dedicated route with jc penny. I am kind of clueless as to what direction I want to go. I have a fiance at home that I would like to see. I am shooting for 7 on and 2 off regional or dedicated? Does anyone have an opinion on my best course of action with these companies?

Dude...still being relatively new to the industry myself, I myself went with TMC fresh outta school...those shined up 379 Pete's they drove by our school sure looked sweet and the recruiters were very persuasive...if I could just go with them for the training, I'd do it, but out in the world on your own, you'll see it's very difficult to "legally" make a good wage each week. And there ain't nothing like frozen tarps and straps in the dead of winter..;) either.. But Roehl seems like a reputable carrier--they have a flatbed division if that's what you're set on, Maverick also has a good rep out there...just be prepared for HARD work and preparing your "comic book" with TMC..and whatever you do....DON'T STEP ON THE GRASS WHILE IN DES MOINES!!!!!!!!!!

hansman-if you're just getting into trucking, and like flatbed, you are making a good choice with Maverick--they seem to be a safe operation with a good training program, and nice equipment. I drive for Carty and Carty in Lexington, but they ask for a year of OTR experience. I started with TMC and had a great trainer, but life after training was different, so after working for TMC for three months, I decided to go to Averitt Express..which wasn't bad..you just have to wear a uniform and can have any facial hair aside from a moustache..hope that helps!

    Thanks for the insight.
I`ve seen several Carty & Carty trucks at the flyinJ in Waddy.

I will be a new driver as you suspected, seems like for our area Mav or roehl are the way to go .

I`m hoping to be in Mav`s cdl training within a few weeks !
