You definitely should get it under control. On the road is no place to have medical problems.

Bang out some cardio and meditate before your next visit. I was high bp too but then he retested me and it dropped. Always nervous about a doc visit.

High Blood Pressure can have more then one cause. The biggest offender is all the sodium in the processed foods truckers eat. My last 2 years or so trucking I was taking Lisinopril/HCTZ 20/25 and still had a problem staying under 145 to 150 on that top number. Most of the time the bottom number I could keep in the 80 to 85 range. Once I retired I have almost stopped eating processed food. I eat fresh veggies and very rarely eat anything out of a can. I can't drink Coffee or Sodas. Last time I had my blood pressure checked was on the 15th at the VA Hospital when I went to see the heart doc there. My blood Pressure was (if I remember right) 117/67. In fact until I was diagnosed with CAD I was not taking anything for blood pressure. Now I am having to take Metoprolol Succinate because of something dealing with Epilepsy. This morning just before I ate brakefast I checked my BP on my home machine and it was 97/60. My butts been a draging a bit too. Everytime I stand up it is an adventure.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'm definitely going to work on the diet, and cardio, and whatever my doctor says. I/m definitely not ready to cash out anytime soon :)

A very good natural aid for high blood pressure....magnesium, it is a natural element that helps the heart relax, it can also help you sleep and digest. I'd recommend a brand called Advanced, I've ordered it from Amazon and whole foods carries it. The purer the better. It's not dirt cheap for a better bran but far far cheaper than the drugs that the pharms sponsors will have your doctor pumping at your for a profit.

Also everyone needs to keep in mind that if you don't have room for an actual fridge in your truck there are some great little coolers available that work well, yeti and their competitors like igloo that should hold a few packs of frozen veggies. bring you 10 for your lunch snack, just sit them on the floor in your plastic bag in the morning the thaw out, you don't have to cook them to eat them but they are far healthier than truck stop food and help clean us out with the fiber in them.
