It’s the HOS that tells you when to stop not ELD.

I’m sorry, I must have missed something... did the Hours of Service get changed when the ELD mandate went into effect?

Oh, wait... no I don’t think it did. The biggest problem with ELDs is that now we have to listen to the non-stop complaining from a bunch of wannabes that aren’t capable of adapting to modern life.

An hour is an hour whether it’s drawn on a piece of paper or drawn on a computer screen. Stop whining about your shortcomings as a driver and either run legal electronic logs or go find a job in another industry where integrity isn’t a required trait.

The HOS are part of the problem, as the old HOS were more flexible.
And another problem that did not help any driver is the pay per mile model. Which most likely ruined trucking.

    Paddlewagon Thanks this.

The two most recent big changes to the HOS were in 2013 and 2003. If you haven’t learned how to adapt in the last 5/15 years then the problem isn’t the HOS, it’s you.

Also, not everyone gets paid per mile. That’s a choice everyone has to make for themselves. If you want a different pay structure there are hundreds, if not thousands, of companies to choose from.

ELDs are not the problem. There are plenty of drivers making a good living with that little box plugged into their truck.

We got people sending stuff into the space and planning trips to Mars , meanwhile some truckers want to keep that paper log. Hell yeah
