this is in good faith and is not sarcastic but be prepared to loose him as a friend and some money along with it. I broke the rule of doing business with a friend once and there is a reason for the saying.

I know its a risk, I have several other investments so I'm ok with it. I don't think its that hard As long as he makes most of the money. Ill I care about is a Small %. ok with that being said today I was talking to a friend that works at Howden Norh America. but they go thru a broker he will not be able to give me loads. they have a big contract. he said that he used in the past Mercer-Trans & lone start. will this be the right company for me to get loads for him? he mentioned that i will have to pay like 2000.00 for a membership??????? is not that I don't believe him but that is a bit to much....... any thoughts will be apreciated.

    Thanks

You're about to embark on a wild money losing ride. You want to provide a truck to your friend, more or less wash your hands of it, then collect an easy $600 a week? Who deals with upkeep and maintenance? Who pays for that? What sort of trucking biz acumen does your friend have? There are some simple basics that most drivers never grasp. May be the best driver in the world but that doesn't make them a businessman. Looks like you know very little about this industry and have money to throw around. Lots of cons in this game always looking for a mark like you. You were warned, goodluck.

Really you know that only scratches the surface of what he needs to think about in terms of a contract with his friend. There's a reason they say friends and family don't mesh well with business (the only ship that won't float is a PARTNERship) probably first and foremost these are folks who will maybe think a contract isn't necessary(it is always) and secondly the ones who love you it sometimes seem take the most advantage of you lol. I mentioned maintenance because to me that is and always has been priority number one. For many it's not and in slip shod operations is the first area to get neglected in order to "save money" reality it's costing money but if there is none there one can't afford it. Most responsible drivers who understand that already have a truck and aren't looking for easy street someone else to front the money on startup costs/equipment. For the life of me I cannot imagine risking $100-150k+ on such an arrangement with a wing and a prayer like this.
