What kinda shape are the trucks issued to new drivers? Does TMC have APU's, bunk heaters, or inverters? Are drivers allowed to use inverter of any size?

TMC does not have APU's or inverters. Inverters are not allowed to be used in the trucks. From my understanding, you will be fired if caught using an inverter. HTH

Most Trucks are in pretty good shape...some better than others, but most are good condition. No APU's ,No Bunk heaters (Bunk mattress warmers) , Absolutely no inverters of any size due to fire risk.

What about small inverters that plug into the lighter/12v plug? I guess I'm trying to picture how TMC drivers plug in their laptops and TV's. How about the idling? What is the idle policy since they have no bunk heaters or APUs?

TMC's policy is NO inverters. Not even small ones. Do not get caught with one lying in plain sight at a terminal, it could be terminal.

There are many appliances, TV's, Laptops, Coolers, Coffee Makers, GPS, etc, that have a 12 Volt plug.

Did I mention, not getting caught with an inverter in plain open sight?

When I was driving last time I was able to get a tv, fridge, and cord for my laptop that were all 12v plugs for the cigarette lighter. I'm not sure how the Pete 379's are set up, but my Freightliner Centry had a plug inside the lower driverside "closet" for the fridge, one on top of the pass side "closet" by the TV stand, then one in the dash. My company also didnt allow ANY converters, but we were allowed those spliters that plug into the socket and have 3 female sockets to run more stuff, but had to be carefull how much was pluged in and used at one time.
