I have to log everyday, even when I am not working. It is not my favorite part of the job especially when there are many stops in a few hour period.

WINDY CITY GAL, Listen, why don't you go ahead and give big rig truckn a try? I mean really, even if it does not work out for you,(for most it don't)it will still be an experience you will NEVER forget, and if it does, well, you will have a career where no 2 days are exactly the same, and really, some days ARE just plain fun,(not all now)and plus we will have another cool sister on the road....:biggrin_25525: I do realize though, you will need a grieving period here shortly after the Packers beat the snot outta Da Bears, but you have time..:biggrin_2559:

I've been doing this for 20years trying to getout of it for 19 years if you have kids in the house don't even think about it unless there is no other way to support them I ran teams with a lady driver with kids and she played hell keeping custody of them because of the road

Textbook truckers... :biggrin_2552: I'm with the hand who likes freight not to talk back... never bothered getting my Passenger endorsement for that very reason. Had an incident here in Shaky a while back where some whack job shanked the bus driver en route, which led to a heller wreck. Kinda hard to successfully defend yourself from a psycho when your concentration is upon driving... I've successfully defended myself for years, but I'd never drive a bus for that very reason alone, being unable to prevent the odd whack job from sticking a knife in your neck while you're scanning your left mirror. Hauling freight is great... freight just sits there and rides from A to B, it doesn't give ya lip, it doesn't get drunk and obnoxious before puking in your lap, etc., etc. Not trying to rain on your parade, just throwing out an observation... :biggrin_2554:

You think your financially drained now in the winter? Wait till you get out here trucking.... The Winter's are the slow months & 90% of driver's are financially drained from Christmas till about March.

Ehem, there's a reason why we call them cheese heads :biggrin_255:

Yikes, glad I work with more with corporate folks!

I have two great teens. I would not do anything but local work with a 'here and there' exception. I know on the boards people say otr is the way to get experience, but I am sure there are exceptions, if not, then it is not meant to be. But I really do not know yet what I want to do, entertaining many thoughts right now.

Yeah that is extremely hard. I never realized it affected the truckers like that as well.
