I drove a bus for awhile, Jefferson Lines, basically an extension of Greyhound. I did not like it much.

One thing I had looked forward to was getting to sleep in motel/hotel rooms. But, it turns out that the hotels/motels keep the same room for the bus drivers. So you basically share the same room with the other drivers working the other shifts. Sometimes the sheets don't get changed, trash in the room, etc. Even at the Holiday Inn in downtown Des Moines. You're just a bus driver and you get what you deserve etc.

And you may not get much rest by the time you get to the motel/hotel and have to get back to the bus station. I won't even get into the over-loading of buses, missing luggage, etc.

The union and the company are always fighting and nothing seems to get better.

lol, you go girl :) I am glad it is working out for you.

Interesting. I know every company is different on that policy. My boss gives me a stipend and I go where I want. Did I mention I was spoiled? lol
