I was tempted to call the county sheriff after and all them if the individual had been stopped, seeing how the one behind me pulled a U-turn and went back after the guy.
This could've been bad.

No it's not plenty of room. Assuming 30 feet width of the road, the oncoming tractor would be around 150 feet when he nosed out. From approx 40 to stop did not take long combined with the left hand lane movement to not hit the car at risk of someone coming over the following hill ahead. (###### if you do and ###### if you dont...)
150 feet is like no room. He probably would hit the car and shoved it a few dozen more feet if he kept moving.
We werent there but that video is damning against the car. It's so clear his mental desire to avoid stopping there by his hesitation in bring it to a smooth steady decel and stop. By the time the car reached the sign I was already mentally assessing the smash, Gunner75 did what I would have. Particularly with a smokey on the rear. Get over, stop dead make sure smokey gets a eyeful of offending car, proceed.Gunner75 Thanks this. -
I never said there was plenty of room. I was implying that on the video you don't have the same feeling as seeing in real life. You don't get the heart stopping feeling watching it as it felt from the seat.G13Tomcat Thanks this.

The video doesn't translate over the feeling well because the camera sits about 2 feet closer than I do and is up higher than I am. From my vantage point I lost sight of his hood when I started moving over

I realize that Sir Bean Jr. Knowing that US 30, it was close enough for me to be there via the video. It's such a common occurrence along there. Here in the south they will wait a while.
Bean Jr. Thanks this. -
Seeing more and more videos like that make me want to go out and get a dash cam for the few times that I do drive anymore just for that fact that something might happen. For some reason the more I think about driving the more I think that my number is coming up to have an accident.
You did really well with that situation. You didn't jerk the wheel as much as you could have and by doing what you did reduced the risk of a roll over. You also didn't hit the car which is also good. Now the time to think about what other ifs is now. What would you have done if there was another car coming the opposite way? Where would you have gone? The more you think about situations like this the more likely that you will pick the right outcome later on. At least that is what I do when I watch these videos. -
There really isn't a good answer to this. Had another car or truck been coming, I most likely would've hit the Prius. At least with that impact the car driver might have a better outcome.

Be safe as you can, fellow Buckeye..... well said, above. I'm off for a half-shift, Just a quick trip to Massillon and back. Anything can happen to all and each of us, at anytime. I still think you did well considering circumstances. Til tmrw~
