H.R. 3282, The Electronic Logging Device Extension Act of 2017, has added four additional cosponsors over the past week bringing the total up to 49 Congressional cosponsors. The legislation seeks to amend the current ELD implementation date by two years until December 2019, allowing more time to further evaluate the readiness of the mandate. The bill has been endorsed by more than 25 organizations representing diverse segments of the economy. We are working with these coalition partners to gather additional support for H.R. 3282 and apply pressure on House leaders to advance the bill. We are also continuing our efforts in the Senate to utilize every legislative option at their disposal. And we will continue to appeal to the White House for assistance in delaying and ultimately repealing the harmful mandate.

Check the latest list of H.R. 3282 Cosponsors

If your Representative is listed, please contact them to thank them for their support. If you do not see your Representative, please contact their office and tell them to cosponsor H.R. 3282 today.

Find your Lawmaker Here or call the U.S. Capitol Switchboard at 202-224-3121 to be directly connected with your Representative.

    Thank you!

My congressman, Peter DeFazio (D) sent me a response that he intends to vote against any delay of the mandate. He assured me that the well being and safety of the general public is at risk if the ELOG mandate doesn't go into effect.

He's a politician, he must be right, right?

They gonna have everybody buy Elogs and on Dec 17 they will postpone for 2 more years. This way elog manufacturers can make their money.
But now, honestly, I wish Elogs would come already. It makes me sick to my stomach, because I personally know couple companies with over 500 drivers combined, all solos running team loads over 4k miles per week each.
Everybody plays with paper a bit, but those guys do 4 loads per week, fuel for cash on 2 loads in between and hide logs like nothing ever happened.

Not sure about safer, but I am hoping for better rates. They do round trips MI to TX for $4500 on 3400 miles. Leaving Monday and back for the weekend Th night or FR morning. Tell me how is this not killing rates for everybody else

I gotcha now. They probably think they're skinning a fat calf at a $1.32 per mile too.
