Yeah if I drain it again I’ll save the oil. 5 gallons of synthetic gear oil isnt cheap. I am. Maybe I’ll drain it again next week after my trips when it’s hot. My diff temp gauge doesn’t work (shocking), but I can hold my hand on the housing after running all day and it’s just warm. Going to bring my temp gun with me next week to see what the oil is via the fill plug after running all day.jamespmack Thanks this.

I'd it was my truck and i didn't flush it what i woukd do is drain it again as soon as i could(while at operating temp basically add soon ad you get home and can get a pan under it) then flush it with diesel and fill it back up after filtering the oil through am old t shirt. Then id run it like that while checking the plug every week or so.Tug Toy Thanks this.

Lost the pinion in Seattle. Looks like I should have just replaced it. Guess I’ll be sitting in Washington for a few days

Well what happened? I would have never reused any oil. Was it the seal or complete diff?

I've work on them longer than drove them. I myself would have ran it to. And I'm not one to purposely push my luck.
Tug Toy Thanks this.
