    Opi,

I am very confused. Why would a company hire YOU over another new driver with no tickets and no criminal background? I'm all for self-confidence but what makes you so special? Why can't you understand why a company would hire someone with a past record of responsibility vs. someone who has a pattern of making bad decisions?

If you had ten thousand dollars.... why (oh why) didn't you take it and open your own business of some kind?

Then you would be your own boss... I really think you would be much happier that way.

By the way.......... you could have come out here to California and paid $3k - $4k (max) for training.......... the other $6k-$7k would have made for one heck of a nice vacation at the beach (in-between classes)........

    Stop the insanity.

Just a bit of information for you, and anyone else looking to drive a truck.

You did not get a speeding ticket. It may state speeding, and the judge may have charged you with speeding. But their opinion is total BS when it comes to applying for a trucking job.

You, for every sense of the word, received a "Reckless Driving" ticket. Per the companys' insurance policy.

Anything higher than 15 mph above the posted speed limit, is considered reckless driving by most companies and their insurance under writers.

The majority of companies wil NOT touch you now. Good luck.

Lest see you got nailed for a Felony conviction. Then you get nailed for 63 in a 40 that is a speed trap huh? How is it a speed trap? Is it a speed trap just because the cop wrote you a ticket? Is it a speed trap just because you where speeding and got caught? If I owned a trucking company I sure as hell would not hire you. Number one that Felony conviction, for insurance fraud. That would make me think OK this guy has already scamed on insurance company, so what is he going to try and do scam me? Then with the speeding. I sure would not hire you, my thought would be this guy is going to try and speed everywhere what is he going to do get busted for going 63 in a 40 in my truck? Or is he going to be speeding and run into a family?

In the 8 years that I have had my License I have had 0 ZERO none zip nada tickets. I have had 0 ZERO zip NONE NADA accidents. Those little white signs with black letters and numbers on them that say Speed Limit 40. That is what the speed limit is. If you go over it you can and may get a ticket. As far as you being pissed off at people who are telling you this stuff get over it. You are the one who broke the law and got a felony for insurance fraud. YOU are the one that was going 63 in a 40. No one else made you do it. YOU DID IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Opi,

With all due respect, driver wannabe, based on your remarks, you appear to have an attitude problem.

Driving a truck requires a driver take personal responsibility for his actions.

And, you appear to be unable to accept that responsibility based on your comments and attitude.

Perhaps you should try a different line of work. It's unlikely you would be successful as a truck driver given your inability to accept responsibility.

Unfortunately I don't think the boy will even be able to get a job at a fast food restaurant.

    Felony Insurance Fraud?

Last thing they want is some line cook who claims he "fell" in the back because of grease ............ who then files a big workmans compensation complaint and expects McDonalds and the taxpayers to pay him to sit at home and "get better."

I'm guessin' that 10k he got for school was a grant......... our hard won tax dollars at work!

This young man has no integrity.

He lacks the ability to take responsibility for his own actions.

We all make mistakes.......... and boy, some of them are doozies!..... but you step up and take what you deserve. Then you go on - hopefully a little wiser for the wear...............

well, after reading all the opinions in this thread.....i think opi's only option IS to become a homeless person. Let me know which corner you'll be washing windows on and I'll come by in my truck and let you clean them. :biggrin_25520:

Medicenman, I would like your opinion. What do you think the diferent would be.. If I go to a college, pay myself for it and get my CDL.. instead of signing a 1year contract with X company..

Part of being a professional, is being knowledgable about the product. The only product that you AND the other driver have to offer, is yourself.

It appears to me, that neither of you were willing to take the time to insure the product you were trying to sell to trucking companies, was worth investing in. And, neither of you want to take responcibility for the quality of the product after you offered it to the first customer.

Point... It cost both of you thousands of dollars...because BOTH of you were to #### lazy and cheap to run your MVR prior to going to school.

30 minutes and 25 bucks ...tops.

Now you're both on the hook for over $5000.

Exactly where does the "we're all professional drivers" fit inside your statements/post. I think a better term would have been, some of us aspire to be professional drivers.

Anything 15 mph or more over the posted limit is reckless driving. Welcome to the REAL professional drivers reality.

With insurance getting the way it is. This "citation" may well effect your career for 5-7 years.

As for the forum shutting down..I've seen worse debates/threads on Christian Bible Study sites...ain't gonna happen.
