Clovis NM has Cook's Restaurant on the east side of town along US 60/84. Absolutely still fabulous; have been going there over 25 years. They have the old town photos. Numerous pictures of cowboys, branding, ranching and (of course) old trucks! Super food; waitresses are still human and not robots. You get a great meal for a great price. And the sound of the BNSF railroad across the highway also adds to the atmosphere. Filled with old timers and young folks. Tradition is still alive and well here. Cook's Restaurant, Clovis NM!
navypoppop, mslashbar, ‘Olhand and 1 other person Thank this. -
I stopped at the Queen City last night. I was disappointed. The food was still fair, but the staff was rude and unpleasant. It’s probably not long for the world if that keeps up.
Oxbow and navypoppop Thank this. -
Speaking of New Mexico, I liked Virgies on the west side of Gallup on old Rt 66.

I'll be stopping back at Queen City this May when we go back on the road with the RV and I hope it hasn't gone down hill. Maybe it was just that one waitress who was having a bad day. I hope so because the great Mom & Pop's are becoming few and far in betweenbumper Jack Thanks this.

I remember those days. Be a kid out there with 2 pumps running in each tank while he made modern art out of bug guts on the glass. We used to tip them to just leave the glass alone.Oxbow Thanks this.
