Gills truck stop was south of Terre Haute Ind. on route 41 in the small village of Shelburn, They had good food and very friendly waitress's. The building is still there but the truckstop is long gone! so are the waitress's. One girl named Gale ran off with another big rigger and broke my heart! I think she found a way out and took it. I hope she had a good life.![]()
this is for the old timer's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lib's on Hwy 25 west of Calera Alabama used to serve the best hamburger steak and the waitresses would invite you to their trailer out back if you were real nice and had a few extra coins. Never heard of anyone getting ripped off either.

I always like the old Carlisle Travel Plaze before it became a Pilot. I also liked Crazy Freds in Kingman Az......Lastly, the TA at Dallas Pike WV was good.

The original Texaco Town, in rural, central, Louisiana, where LA Hwy 28E tee's into US Hwy 84. They had a fuel / service station and a restaurant. They had good "community" coffee, delicious ice-tea, hamburgers to die for, and daily lunch specials that couldn't be beat for taste or price. It burned down in the late 80's. It was a real truck stop. I really miss that place.
