This does not make sense. Team Chicago to Sac CA can be done Maybe.

2050 miles if memory serves right a set of 330 gallon tanks should get you there maybe one short fuel stop. 10 minutes at most. It will be about 31 hours exactly at 62 mph governed.

At best you move appt forward a half day.

If you had a 85 mph truck with adequate horses etc this trip is NO problem as a team.

You were probably fired for refusing a legal load. As far as the problems with tractor fix it. Either at shop or go by dealership. Have Operations adjust appt times to match new reality.

I hate to say it but I'd run it. Governed speed is a tad slow. I probably would be using more downgrades in neutral to get up to and stay at 85 or whatever legal speed limit there is. They can fire me later.

So whats the real story huh?

This thread is 4 years old and I’m pretty sure the OP has moved on to better things.

Has any body ever added up that fact that truck drivers are allowed to work 14 hrs. a day, times 7 days adds up to 98 hrs a week. Lets say 100 for simplicity sake. If I make 1000.00 a week. I made 10.00 an hr. If I made 1500.00 that week. I made 15.00 an hr.
I spent my days alone in a cabin of a truck, eating garbage food and sleeping poorly.
Is this really a good job?

I laugh every time I read this thread. Everybody warned him about that company but he went there anyway and then came on here and said everything drivers warned him about. Last I heard he was pulling tanker in California he don't post much anymore

Dunno. I make a hell of a lot more. Just curious how someone uses 98 hours as their number for hourly pay.

A: HOS says no way you can.
B: Why the hell would you if you could?

Good grief get a life. This dwelling in trucks is no life.
