The truck was going slower than they were, and how much do you think that the general 4 wheeler driver knows about that? Wow.

Cabbage was the only place that I had to chain last year(about 9 times). I'll run that road everyday, I don't think its that bad. The hard thing is when 400 trucks try to fit into the Arrowhead, when the Pass gets shut down because fedex though He didnt have to chain.

The thing that makes Donners so frustrating is that it will snow,,,,and snow,,,,,and snow,,,,,and snow,,,,,and the darn thing is so stinking long. I still think that I80 in Wyoming is the toughest stretch of road in Winter. With the darn wind and the ice and the super trucker. That little section at the Wyoming/Nebraska border is a truck eater too. For whatever reason a little 1/4 section always freezes right in the same darn spot, going west, down the little hill.

    I will say this ....

At 30 mph you could have been a hazard. Plain and simple , its kinda like the first week driving ......

    My first time down :

It was foggy as hell , and I was scared but my trainer from the top said "do not go below 50" and it was for a good reason . People will kill you going down to slow . Riding your ### and all butt pushing you off the road.

Yeah I have been up , down , and back a again ....

You go down ,ok fast in the wrong weather and your toast....

I was between two Rocky Mountain Doubles doing the same thing. I have a feeling they knew what they were doing.

You go down the hill your way, and I'll go down the proper way.

I noticed the check engine light is off but now the cruise control doesn't work. My Volvo's electric gremlin is a crafty sob.

One time, almost halfway down, a scrap hauler lost a grease barrel full of ballasts for florescent lighting. they were strewn across all the lanes and everyone was on the brakes. You never know what's around the next corner.

He's not a hazard at 30. I've seen slower. As a matter of fact, I come down (with the exception of the hairpin) at between 45-55 and I'm usually the fastest one. I feel like I'm the hazard, but I totally feel in contr. the only time you're a hazard on Cabbage, or any other pass, is when you're NOT in control. Driving over your ability or comfort zone is what causes crashes.

    tangerineGT Thanks this.
