If you're gonna text and drive, become a leo. That way when you're driving 126 mph and texting, then kill people you'll only get a slap on the wrist

 

I get a laugh out of AT&T's commercial about texting, if they were all that concern, they would just stop the service altogether and solve the problem.

 

the thing is, we can have all the public service commercials regarding this. but it still goes on and on. Like cigarette smoking. anti smoking ads are a dime a dozen, yet sales of cigarettes and cigars and chew are still holding their own.

what really is the use of anti-anything commercials, when the products still exist.?

the communications lobby is huge, no way, no how, will devices be out lawed. Fined and maybe sued, sure, but that'll never stop it. as long as nearly everyone thinks they have self importance, the texting, cell use, emailing, etc,etc, will continue.

"it can wait", waits for no one that is self absorbed into being self important.

 

I've wanted to make an app for people with no self control. Some people want to change, but can't resist the small urges to glance at their phone. A simple app that used the GPS to detect a speed of say greater than 15 mph (whatever you programmed). Once the speed is reached the app triggers the drive mode already enabled in the phone. A quick disable function if your a passenger and not driving.

Just a simple app for those wanting to make the commitment to be safer and more responsible individuals. Something to remind them when they go to glance.

 

Terrifying that's what it is plain and simple!

 

I know a disabled US Marshal. He was riding shotgun with another US Marshal, he wasn’t wearing a seatbelt and had both his knees up against the dash when they went of the road and wrecked. He got a huge settlement, a nice pension and uses the social security check to buy fuel for the 200k motor home and beer. The guy is in better physical shape than I am!.
