Might help save lives if bus riders had to wear seat belts. Unless I am mistaken, they do not.
Yeah, the bus driver looks like he wasn't paying enough attention to the road.
This is why ELD's are going into effect.

Bus drivers can drive at the speed limit for cars, not trucks (and I dont mean pickup trucks) in
Kookistan. So if this was a 65 MPH zone, the bus driver was going 11 MPH faster then legal.Last edited: Oct 24, 2017

As far as being Kookistan, can you believe that Reagan was governor there, we recalled 3 supreme court justices in the 1980s because they wouldnt uphold the death penalty, we had 4 straight terms of republican governor and that The election for the third term, Pete Wilson beat Dianne Feinstein? How the mighty have fallen! -

What the cops say to the press could be very different then what comes out under oath in court , the drivers video interview with the press is also very different from the cops account , why not believe him ?
SheepDog Thanks this. -
I assumed this is part of the reason why some here demand to be called "professional drivers", regardless.Pumpkin Oval Head and lovesthedrive Thank this. -
So why should the standards be different for truck drivers vs ordinary motorists? Speed limits are the same, and everybody ought to know what those are whether they drive commercially or not. Same goes for every other "rule of the road". They are what they are, and EVERY motorist ought to be held accountable for what they do behind the wheel.
Just because you drive a truck doesn't mean you have given up your rights as a citizen. -
Every truck driver knows about the HOS we are held to a higher standard. Seems simple to me, drivers just don't seem to understand how important the HOS are. You will when you drive so tired and sleep and wake up an people are killed because some of the choices you made are not correct.
Remember the Tracy Morgan accident ?that Walmart driver also thought he could drive long hours without sleeping. It's more then just a simple log book violation. I have a question for anyone who say is only a simple log book violation. If your family member or friend got killed, and you found out the driver was over HOS. Would you say that's ok, I understand ?
Plus we have HOS to stop this from happening but when a driver refuses to stop and go over the HOS, this can happen. People talk about the law and how the bus driver did not stop. That's true, but I was told the law is not like this accident is 100% a single persons fault. It never is, in eyes of the laws. It's just like if a drive is parked on the shoulder of the road for a nap and a drunk driver run into back of trailer. The truck driver is partially responsible for the accident. Because the shoulder is only for emergency parking only.Last edited: Oct 24, 2017
